Ok, the game is very repetitive, pretty tedious and no real goal to aspire to. Understandable your point on newgrounds was based on games like this, but that was a long time ago.

On the plus side, you actually have a great idea which could be taken a lot further then where it is right now. But nonetheless great effort and keep it up, hope to see a sequel!

Visually I enjoyed it, the crayon sketched look, very much reminded me of my childhood books (i.e. the hungry caterpillar, the way it was animated helped reinforce this aswell). The gameplay was original, user friendly (maybe bit awkward if your on a laptop) and at times challenging but always fun and never frustrating. Well done.
